Lisa Borgen (Retired Judge) brings decades of outstanding legal and leadership experience, including seven years as a respected District Court Judge and two terms as an elected County Attorney. During her judicial tenure, she presided over a broad range of civil and family law cases, earning a reputation for practical wisdom, efficiency, and a calm, steady presence in the courtroom. Her approach was marked by fairness and a deep commitment to helping parties find resolution—even in the most complex and emotionally charged matters.
Appointed to the Minnesota District Court bench in 2006, Judge Borgen served until her retirement in 2013. She previously served as Clay County Attorney from 1999 to 2006, following a successful career in private practice representing clients in both civil and criminal matters. After her judicial service, she took on a leadership role as Vice President at American Crystal Sugar Company, where she oversaw all administrative divisions—including human resources and labor relations—until her retirement in 2024. Now retired from the bench and corporate leadership, Lisa brings her depth of experience to mediation, arbitration, and special master roles—offering parties a balanced, solution-focused approach to resolving disputes effectively and collaboratively.
