Every dispute arrives with its own history, personalities, business realities, legal risks, and communication challenges. That is why I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all mediation process. Every case deserves thoughtful preparation, meaningful analysis, and a resolution strategy designed specifically for the people, issues, and goals involved.

My role extends well beyond facilitating conversation. I work with parties and counsel to evaluate risk, challenge assumptions, improve communication, and identify practical paths toward resolution. Sometimes that means exploring creative settlement structures. Sometimes it means helping parties better understand the strengths and vulnerabilities of their positions. Every mediation is different because every dispute is different.

Rather than relying on a standard process, every mediation is intentionally designed around the needs of the case, the goals of the participants, and the realities of the dispute. Kristi has served in leadership roles for the Minnesota Supreme Court, helped shape professional and ethical standards for lawyers and neutrals, taught trial advocacy and dispute resolution across the country, developed innovative ADR programs, written extensively on communication and conflict resolution, and worked alongside lawyers, judges, businesses, and organizations facing some of their most challenging decisions.
